Regis Women's Basketball Announces 2007-08 Season Team Awards
Denver, Colo.: The Regis women's basketball team recently named it's team award winners for the 2007-08 season. The Most Improved Player went to junior Kammy Martindale, Best Defensive Player to senior Breanne Burley, while senior Stevi Seitz took home the Fighting Ranger and the Most Outstanding Player Awards. The awards were voted on by the Regis Ranger players.
Seitz, from Golden Valley, Minn., led the team with a 7.5 rebound per game average. She was second on the squad averaging 15.5 ppg. Seitz was a First Team Academic All-RMAC and an East Division First Team All-RMAC selection this season.
Burley, from Kent, Wash., led the Rangers with 167 assists to lead the RMAC. She tied for the RMAC lead averaging 2.00 steals per game. She was also third on the team averaging 10.5 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game. She was a Second Team Academic All-Conference selection and an honorable mention East Division pick.
Martindale, from Florence, Ore., started four games for the Rangers hitting 24 three-point baskets, fourth on the team. She chipped in with 4.3 rebounds per game playing in all 28 games. Martindale finished the season with two straight double figure games, including her Regis career high of 15 points against Chadron State. Read
