Women’s Cross Country Places Two on USTFCCCA 2011 Division II All-Academic Team
New Orleans, La.: Two Ranger women cross country members were named to the USTFCCCA 2011 Division II All-Academic team on Wednesday, February 8th. Junior Caitlin O'Brien and sophomore Lauren Policky were both given the honors for their performances in athletics and academics.
O'Brien, a native of St. Louis, Mo., was instrumental in many races during the 2011 season for the Rangers. In the women's first race, the Joe I. Vigil open, she led the women with a total run time of 19:14.00, a time that helped the Rangers place fourth on the day.
Salida, Colo. native, Policky, was also a driving force for the Rangers this season. She led the Rangers in three races on the season, including coming in sixth place in the Colorado College Invitational with a 24:09.00 total run time.
