Vargas Leads Rangers to 6th Place Finish in NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championships

The Ranger women's cross country team placed 6th with 231 points in the NCAA Division II Central Region Cross Country Championships.  The race was hosted by Metro State in Washington, Park in Denver, Colo.  The women competed with 21 teams and 145 total runners, ending with a total team run time of 2:05.30.

Freshman Vargas led the Rangers finishing 29th.  The Kamuela, Hawaii native recorded a 24:33 total time for the women.  Sophomore Lauren Policky finished 43rd on the day, running for a time of 24:58.  Junior Caitlyn O'Brien was close behind her teammates finishing with a time of 25:11 and 48th place.

Junior Ryndi Zastrow finished 54th with a time of 25:19.  With 25:30 as a final time, junior Hope McGeeHee finished 57th.

Also running for the Rangers were seniors Karoline Garren (68th, 67 points, 25:47) and Samantha Comerci (93rd, 90 points, 26:42).
