Policky Leads Rangers to 5th Place Finish in RMAC Cross Country Championships

The Rangers ran for an overall team time of 2:02.07 placing 5th out of 13 teams in the RMAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Regis University.  The race took place at the Willis Case golf course in Denver, Colo. 

Sophomore Lauren Policky led the Rangers coming in 18th place with an overall run time of 23:50.  Kela Vargas finished with an overall time of 24:26 for 31st place.  Right behind Vargas at 24:30 was junior Ryndi Zastrow in 33rd place. 

Junior Caitlin O'Brien was close behind teammates with an overall time of 24:34 for 34th place.  With an overall time of 24:49 was junior Hope McGeHee in 36th place.

Also running for the Rangers were seniors Kari Garren ((38th), 24:56) and Samantha Comerci ((63rd), 25:58). 

Western State College finished first as a team with 27 points.  Adams State College came in second with 31, while Metro State came in third with 77 points.  Finishing just above the Ranger women in fourth was Colorado School of Mines with 133 points.

The women will compete next November 5th at the NCAA Regional Championships hosted by Metro State.  The race will take place in Denver, Colo. at Washington Park.
