The Regis Rangers women's cross country teams journeyed to Alamosa, Colorado today to compete at the Joe I. Vigil Open. The Ranger's had 21 total runners competing including seven men and 14 women.
The women placed fourth overall with a team run time of 1:38:29.00). They were underneath Western State (1st: 1:28:38.00), Adams State (2nd: 1:31:55.00), and Colorado Mesa (3rd: 1:36:58.00). Coming in behind the Ranger women was Garden City Community College (5th: 1:50:43.00).
The women's race held 72 runners. Lead runner was junior Caitlyn O'Brien who placed 23rd keeping average mile paced at 6:11.5, bringing her total run at 19:14.00. She was followed by Hannah Cheney and Kela Vargas who crossed the finish line at 19:41.00 and 19:43.00, giving average miles of 6:20.2 and 6:20.8. They placed at 29 and 30. Close to her teammates, Ryndi Zastrow paced herself at 6:22.7 for a final run time of 19:49.00 and 32nd place.
Also running for the women included Hope McGeehee, Kari Garren, Kelly Flemin, Devin Muldoon, Samantah Comerci, Grace Triska, A Chittenden, Calleigh Durr, Kristen Coffey and Ashley Jensen.
