Regis Volleyball Excels in the Classroom; Earn AVCA Academic Team Award
The 2009-10 Regis volleyball team recently earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Team Academic Award for its cumulative 3.547 grade point average throughout the academic year.

Associate Athletic Director Ann Martin Tabbed as Next Regis Athletic Director
Regis University President Fr. Michael Sheeran, S.J. announced the hiring of Ann Martin as the next director of athletics. Martin replaces longtime Regis Athletic Director Barbara Schroeder who will be retiring in June. Martin has been on the Regis athletic administration staff since 2005.

Regis Volleyball Ends Their Spring Season on the Sand Instead of the Hardwood
This spring the Regis Ranger volleyball team decided to finish the spring portion of the 2009-10 season not on the hard court surface but on a sand court. Regis, Colorado Mines, Adams State and New Mexico Highlands all competed with two-person teams.

Ranger Volleyball Signs Three Outstanding Student-Athletes for 2010
The Regis Univeristy volleyball team and head coach Frank Lavrisha signed three high school seniors during the National Letter of Intent signing period. Sage Martinson, Lauren Flanagan, and Christina Henzgen will all suit up in blue & gold next fall.

Ranger Women's Volleyball Takes UC-Colorado Springs to Five Sets but Falls in Regular Season Finale
The regular season finale didn't go as planned for Regis volleyball team as they fall in five sets to UC-Colorado Springs (25-23, 15-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12). Regis earned the six seed and a date with #3 seed Metro State in the upcoming RMAC Tournament to take place next weekend in Kearney, Neb.

Ranger Women's Volleyball Gets Head Coach Frank Lavrisha's 500th Victory with Straight Set Win over Colorado Christian
Head Coach Frank Lavrisha has seen a lot of volleyball since his first game at Regis in the fall of 1986 and after tonight's Regis 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Colorado Christian Lavrisha is now a member of the 500 win club.

Ranger Volleyball Fights off Pesky Chadron State on Senior Night in Straight Sets
On senior night the lone senior, Maggie Workman, stepped up and helped the Rangers defeat Chadron State 3-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. Furthermore, the Rangers secured a spot in the RMAC Tournament in two weeks and the win put head coach Frank Lavrisha's total at 499.

The Rangers completed their five-game road series with a 3-0 loss to the fifth- ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Saturday. After falling to the Lopers, Regis holds a 12-11 overall record (10-5 RMAC).

The Regis Ranger volleyball team was trying to break a 12-match losing streak at Metro State. After the first two sets it looked like that was going to happen, however the Roadrunners came back to win the final three sets to stun the Rangers 3-2.

Junior All-American Jessica Howe's career-high 26 kills helped the Regis Ranger volleyball team dispense of Western State 3-1 in the first of their three matches in three nights. Regis lost the first set 25-21 but came back to win the next three 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

A tale of teams was the story tonight for the Regis Rangers volleyball team. Regis dropped the first set to Fort Lewis in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in a manner not consistent with the Rangers over the past eight games. Regis, however, responded and defeated the Skyhawks 3-2.

The Ranger volleyball team dropped the first set to Western New Mexico in tonights Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup before taking the next three to defeat the Mustangs 3-1. Junior Jessica Howe helped lead the charge with a season-high 19 kills while hitting .351 for the match.

Ranger Volleyball Evens Record at 6-6 with a Straight Set Victory over Colorado Christian
The Regis Ranger volleyball team had their perfect RMAC record, 3-0, on the line tonight against Colorado Christian and were able to defend their home court in a straight set victory. Regis used great offense, hitting .378 in the match, compared to just .038 for the Cougars.

Rangers Find Stride in Sweep of Colorado Mines
The Regis Ranger volleyball team couldn't have scripted a better opening weekend of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Regis swept through Chadron State and then went into hostile Lockridge Arena where just one night previous, Colorado Mines upset #14 Metro State. The Rangers used a career-high 12 kills from sophomore Lyz Kann to outplay the Orediggers in a three-set sweep.

Rangers Soar Past Chadron State in RMAC Opener
Regis used a balanced offensive attack to soar past the Chadron State Eagles in the Rangers Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener 3-0. The Rangers hit .194 in the match while limiting the Eagles to a .044 attack percentage.

The Regis volleyball team has one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country and it didn't get any easier for them as they took on #19 Lewis University. The Flyers (4-3) got 17 kills from Stephanie Sagat to dispatch of the Rangers (2-5) in straight sets.

Regis Volleyball Falls to #8 Southwest Minnesota State 3-1 at Colorado Premier Challenge
The Regis Ranger volleyball team are finding out just how premier the Colorado Premier Challenge is. For the second time in less than a week Regis was pitted against Southwest Minnesota State and unfortunately the outcome was the same. The Rangers fell to the Mustangs by scores of 25-22, 16-25, 18-25, 16-25.

Regis Can't Find Rhythm After Taking First Set From Western Oregon; Fall in Four to the Wolves
The last two coaches in Regis history pitted their teams against each other today in the final game of the 2009 Colorado Premier Challenge. Regis and 23-year head man Frank Lavrisha fell to Western Oregon 3-1 who is coached by former Regis coach Brad Saindon (1984-85). Game scores were 25-15, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Rangers Outhit #15 West Florida but Fall in Three Sets
The Regis Ranger volleyball team outhit 15th ranked West Florida .195 to .190 but was unable to get past the Argos, falling 3-0. The Rangers, now 2-3 on the season, got a combined 25 kills from juniors Jessica Howe and Kerry Grady.

The Ranger volleyball team used solid hitting to dispense of Northern State in five sets and Missouri Western St. in straight sets. Regis got a combined 30 kills from junior all-american Jessica Howe and helped Regis hit a .222 and .202 respectively.

Rangers Tabbed Third in RMAC Preseason Poll; Junior Jessica Howe Named Preseason All-RMAC
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released its preseason volleyball information today with the Regis Rangers predicted third overall and third in the East Division. Regis finished the season in 2008 with a 19-12 record and will enter the 2009 season as defending RMAC Tournament champions.
