Rangers Tabbed Third in RMAC Preseason Poll; Junior Jessica Howe Named Preseason All-RMAC

Colorado Springs, Colo.: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released its preseason volleyball information today with the Regis Rangers predicted third overall and third in the East Division.  Regis finished the season in 2008 with a 19-12 record and will enter the 2009 season as defending RMAC Tournament champions.

Defending regular season champion Nebraska-Kearney is predicted to win the RMAC, while crosstown rival Metro State is predicted to finish second.  Western New Mexico is tabbed to win the West Division and finish fourth overall.

Meanwhile Regis All-American Jessica Howe was an unanimous RMAC Preseason All-Conference selection after a stellar sophomore season.  Howe finished second in the RMAC in kills per game at 3.60.  Nebraska-Kearney junior Jeri Walkowiak was tabbed as Preseason Player of the Year while her teammate junior Cola Svec was named Preseason Setter of the Year.  Metro State senior Amy Watanabe was named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
