Regis Volleyball Falls to Mesa State 3-0 in RMAC Action

Denver, Colo.:  "Thursday Thrills" weren't so thrilling for Regis as the Rangers volleyball team fell to Mesa State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tonight in straight sets 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.

Regis (9-8, 7-2 RMAC) couldn't find any groove in the meeting of two 7-1 teams in RMAC play.  The Rangers started off slow with just a .057 against a .267 hitting percentage for Mesa State (10-8, 8-1 RMAC).

During the second set the Rangers hit a little better at .103 but had only eight kills compared to .250 for Mesa State and 16 kills.

The third set was back and forth early on and Regis led 14-13 before Mesa State went on a match-breaking 8-1 run to win 25-19.

Junior All-American Jessica Howe had 11 kills to lead the Rangers.  Sophomore Lyz Kann contributed seven kills, while juniors Kerry Grady and Erin Anderson each registered four kills.  Freshman Katie Hudencial paced the Rangers with nine digs.

Regis will now have a day off before facing Fort Lewis on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
