Ranger Volleyball Falls to #22 Ranked Augustana 3-1

Sioux Falls, S.D.: The Regis Ranger volleyball team opened their 2009 season against #22 ranked Augustana and came up short falling 3-1 (18-25, 19-25, 25-16, 21-25).  Regis hit .191 compared to .316 for Augustana.

Junior All-American Jessica Howe led the Rangers with 12 kills, while junior transfer Erin Anderson was in double figures with 11 kills.  Freshman Jordan Hughes led the Ranger defense with 11 digs.  Junior Devin Eckhardt had 39 assists.

Regis will resume play tomorrow in the Augustana/Spring Hill Suites Invitational with two games tomorrow at 11 a.m., central time, against Northern State.  They play again at 3 p.m. against Missouri Western.  Both games will be broadcast live, free of charge, by going to northernsun.org/tv.
