Rangers Place Four on RMAC All-Academic Teams

Denver, Colo.: The Ranger volleyball team placed four players on the RMAC All-Academic Teams the conference announced Thursday. Juniors Jessica Howe, Devin Eckhardt, and Kerry Grady along with sophomore Lyz Kann all received honors. 

Howe, a middle blocker from Pueblo, Colo., holds a 3.64 GPA in Biology at Regis.  A second team selection last season also, Howe leads the Rangers with 3.56 kills per set and is in the top five in the RMAC in kills, kills per set, points and points per set. 

Eckhardt was also named to the RMAC Academic Second Team is a setter from LaSalle, Colo. and is majoring in Education currently holding a 3.78 GPA.  Eckhardt is fourth in the RMAC averaging 9.91 assists per set.  Last season Eckhardt was also named to the second team.

Receiving Honor Roll honors are Grady and Kann. Majoring in Communications, Grady, a right side hitter, has compiled a 3.74 GPA while Kann, a middle blocker, holds a 3.70 GPA in Accounting.  Grady, from San Francisco, Calif., was also an Honor Roll honoree last season and is third on the Rangers with a 1.81 kill per set average.  Kann, a native of Scottsdale, Ariz., has come into her own her sophomore season.  She is second on the team in kills (168), kills per set (2.07), attack percentage (.255), blocks (62), blocks per set (0.77), points (206.0), and points per set (2.54).

The RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year is Nikki Scott, a middle hitter, from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Scott is a senior who holds a 3.86 GPA in Communication Disorders.
