Rangers Sign Five for 2009 Season
After a successful RMAC Championship 19-12 season (12-7 RMAC) in 2008, Head Womens Volleyball Coach Frank Lavrisha is adding five new players to the core Ranger roster in hopes of attaining new leaders and formulating a chemistry that will help Regis to overstep last seasons accomplishment of appearing at the NCAA Regional Tournament. The five new signees include Erin Anderson, Caitlin McDonnell, Katie Hudencial, Jordan Hughes, and Kelsey Kohler.

Ranger Volleyball Gives Out 2008 Team Awards
The 2008 Regis Volleyball team awards were given out at a banquet held on the Regis campus. Sophomore Jessica Howe won the "Most Valuable Player" award, sophomore Devin Eckhardt was given the "Grit" Award, freshman Lyz Kann was tabbed as the "Most Improved" and sophomore Sarah Keiter earned the "7th Woman" award.

Sophomore Jessica Howe Earns AVCA Third Team All-America Honors; 11th Player in School History to Achieve Honor
Regis University sophomore outside hitter Jessica Howe was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, leading the Rangers to an improbable RMAC Championship run. Howe, who was selected to the third team, is the Rangers first AVCA All-American since Renee Faubion was tabbed second team in 2000.

Ranger sophomore outside hitter Jessica Howe added to her postseason awards by earning a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Central Region Team. She has also earned Second Team All-RMAC and Daktronics Second Team All-Central Region.

Sophomore Outside Hitter Jessica Howe Named to Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team
When sophomore Jessica Howe made the move to outside hitter from middle hitter prior to the match against 10th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 27, not many people predicted the finish that she or the Rangers would have. For her efforts, Howe was named to the Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team as voted on by the sports information directors at member schools.

Rangers Win First Set But Fall 3-1 to Defending National Champions Concordia-St. Paul in First Round of NCAA Tournament
The Regis Ranger volleyball team took the first set against #1 ranked and defending NCAA Division II National Champion Concordia-St. Paul 25-19 in the first round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The Golden Bears responded by taking the next three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-18, 25-17 to stay on path for a second consecutive title.

Rangers Complete Improbable Run with 3-1 Defeat of Mesa State to Win RMAC Championship; Jessica Howe Named MVP
The Regis Rangers volleyball team finished their improbable run through the 2008 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-1 victory to capture the championship, the Rangers first since 1998. Regis dropped the first set 22-25, but responded with the help of Tournament MVP Jessica Howe to win the next three 25-19, 25-22, 25-18.

Rangers Dipsense of Adams State 3-1; Advance to RMAC Championship Game Against Mesa State
The Regis Ranger volleyball team advanced to the finals of the Rocky Mountain Athleteic Conference tournament with a 3-1 win over Adams State (25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22). They will take on the seven-seed Mesa State Mavericks on Sunday at 3:00 PM local time.

Two Rangers Named to All-RMAC Volleyball Teams

Rangers Start Strong and Hit .354 to Defeat Fort Lewis 3-0 in the First Round of the RMAC Tournament
The five-seed Regis Rangers used superb hitting and good defense to dispense of the four-seed Fort Lewis Skyhawks in three sets, 25-12, 25-19, 26-24 in the first round of the RMAC Tournament. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Keiter helped lead the Rangers to a .354 hitting percentage with a career-high 14 kills.

Rangers Head to NCAA Tournament for the First Time Since 2005
The Regis University Ranger women's soccer team will take on Northern Sun Conference opponent Augustana College on Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Rangers who are 15-6 overall finished the RMAC regular season second and was narrowly defeated by Metro State in last weekend's RMAC Championship Match.

Regis took the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-18, but the feisty Mountain Lions scrapped together the next two sets, 25-22, 25-14 to set up a fifth set tie breaker.

The Ranger volleyball team dueled cross-town rival Metro State tonight in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. The Roadrunners outlasted Regis in five sets 18-25, 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 10-15 before a season-high 346 fans.

Rangers Bounce Back with Four Set Defeat of New Mexico Highlands
The Regis University volleyball team had their third highest attack percentage of the season in dispatching New Mexico Highlands in four sets, 25-13, 25-17, 19-25, 25-15 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night. Regis hit .290 for the match, which has only been bested by their .381 and .348 percentages in wins over C.W. Post and Franklin Pierce.

The Regis Ranger volleyball team was looking for their season-long fifth straight victory, but couldn't overcome some costly errors in falling in three sets to Western New Mexico, 22-25, 23-25, 25-27. Regis had leads of 17-10 in the first set and 17-12 in the third set but couldn't hold off the Mustangs late.

Rangers Win Fourth in a Row; Dump Adams State in Four Games
The marathon week for the Regis Rangers began well for the Rangers as they defeated Western State and CSU-Pueblo on Thursday and Friday, but the toughest test came Saturday night against Adams State. The Rangers passed their final test with flying colors as they beat the Grizzlies 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 18-25, 25-18).

Regis Wins Third Match in a Row with Convincing Win Over CSU-Pueblo
Senior Liz Franz pounded home 13 kills as the Regis Univesity volleyball team easily outlasted CSU-Pueblo in three sets, 25-18, 25-20, 25-13. Regis forced CSU-Pueblo into 23 hitting errors in just 95 attacks and just a .074 hitting percentage.

After winning the first two sets, the Rangers fell in games three and four to take the match into five games Thursday night. After five, the Rangers came out on top defeating conference team Western State 3-2 in Denver (27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 22-25, 15-8).

The Rangers used good hitting and a stingy defense in dispensing of Mesa State in three sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21. The Rangers hit .262 for the match, with just 18 hitting errors, while digging 46 of the Maverick 104 attacks.

Rangers Take RMAC West Division Leader Fort Lewis to Five Games Before Falling
The top team in the RMAC West Division proofed to be too much for the Ranger volleyball team. Fort Lewis defeated Regis in five sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 21-25 and 15-11. Errors again doomed the Rangers as they hit 27 hitting errors and had six service errors.

The Ranger volleyball team gave 10th ranked Nebraska-Kearney all they could handle tonight in RMAC action at the Regis Fieldhouse. Regis used a taller lineup to try and distract the outstanding hitting Lopers, that coupled with a career-high 21 kills by sophomore Jessica Howe put the Rangers in a spot for the upset.

The Ranger volleyball team completed a weekend sweep through the RMAC this weekend, one night after dispatching the UCCS Mountain Lions, the Rangers beat Colorado Christian in straight sets. Regis held Colorado Christian to a dismal .049 hitting while hitting at a .250 clip.

The Lion's Den on the campus of UC-Colorado Springs is one of the toughest places to play in the RMAC if not the country, but the Ranger volleyball team overcame 36 hitting errors to take the match in three sets. Neither team hit well in the match with UCCS hitting .108 compared to .100 for the Rangers.

The Regis Ranger volleyball team lost the first two sets to Mines before taking the next two sets. The fifth and deciding set was a battle to the end before Mines took the final two points to win 16-14. The two teams combined for 369 total attacks and 155 digs.
