Rangers Defeat Western State in Five Game Match; Howe Registers 22 Kills
Denver, Colo.: After winning the first two sets, the Rangers fell in games three and four to take the match into five games Thursday night. After five, the Rangers came out on top defeating conference team Western State 3-2 in Denver (27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 22-25, 15-8).
The Rangers registered a total of 64 kills in all five sets, 22
of which came from sophomore Jessica Howe. Freshman Elizabeth Kann
had nine kills for the Rangers and senior Liz Franz had eight.
Sophomore Devin Eckhardt assisted on 53 of them.
Regis totaled 74 digs in the five sets played with freshman Cassidee Young having 25. Seniors Kristin Thompson and Nia Ingram had 13 and 11 respectively.
The Rangers will face CSU-Pueblo in a conference match-up Friday night at the Regis Fieldhouse. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
