Regis Lets Leads Slip Away in Three Set Loss to Western New Mexico; Howe's 17 Kills Paces Rangers

Silver City, N.M.:  The Regis Ranger volleyball team was looking for their season-long fifth straight victory, but couldn't overcome some costly errors in falling in three sets to Western New Mexico, 22-25, 23-25, 25-27.  Regis had leads of 17-10 in the first set and 17-12 in the third set but couldn't hold off the Mustangs late.

Sophomore outside hitter Jessica Howe continued her hot streak, six double-figure kill matches out of seven, with another 17-kill performance.  Regis (11-9, 7-5 RMAC) hit .127 for the match, while the Mustangs bested Regis hitting .148.  Sophomore right side hitter Kerry Grady had eight kills for the Rangers, with setter Devin Eckhardt assisting on 31 kills.  She just barely missed a double-double with nine digs, second to freshman libero Cassidee Young's match-high 21 digs.

Natali Murdock led Western New Mexico (15-5, 9-3 RMAC) with 13 kills.

Regis travels east in New Mexico to take on New Mexico Highlands on Saturday night.
