Rangers Dipsense of Adams State 3-1; Advance to RMAC Championship Game Against Mesa State

Kearney, Neb.: The Regis Ranger volleyball team advanced to the finals of the Rocky Mountain Athleteic Conference tournament with a 3-1 win over Adams State (25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22).  They will take on the seven-seed Mesa State Mavericks on Sunday at 3:00 PM local time.

The Rangers will be looking for their third RMAC Tournament Championship and their first since 1998.  Sophomore outside hitter Jessica Howe established her career high with 24 kills on 58 swings, a .310 hitting percentage.  Sophomores Kerry Grady and Sarah Keiter chipped in for the Rangers with nine and eight kills respectively.  Sophomore setter Devin Eckhardt had 45 assists and helped the Rangers to 11 total blocks with two.

Senior middle hitter Liz Franz had six blocks, while freshman middle hitter Liz Kann had five blocks.  Also defensively, two Rangers had double-digit digs led by 18 from freshman libero Cassidee Young.  Keiter had 13 for the Rangers who are now 18-11 on the season.  Regis was also helped out by a season-high 10 service aces including a career-high six by Young.

First Team All-RMAC performer Andrea Tuck led Adams State (15-13) with 24 kills and 11 digs.  AJ Palmer had a match-high 47 assists and Kelsey Huckle also collected 11 digs for the Grizzlies.

Regis will play Mesa State at 3:00 PM on Sunday for an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
