Regis Volleyball Falls to Colorado Mines in Five Sets

Denver, Colo.: The Regis Ranger volleyball team lost the first two sets to Mines before taking the next two sets.  The fifth and deciding set was a battle to the end before Mines took the final two points to win 16-14.  The two teams combined for 369 total attacks and 155 digs.

Regis (5-5 overall, 1-1 RMAC) hit .128 for the match while Mines (6-5 overall, 1-1 RMAC) hit just a little better at .139.  Five Rangers had 10-plus kills led by sophomore middle hitter Jessica Howe, junior outside hitter Maggie Workman and sophomore right side hitter Kerry Grady each with 11 kills.  Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Keiter and senior middle hitter Liz Franz tallied 10 kills each.

Sophomore setter Devin Eckhardt had a game-highs of 49 assists and 17 digs.  Senior libero Kristin Thompson was right behind with 16 digs with Workman getting 15.

The Rangers are next in action next Friday, Sept. 19th as they travel to take on UC-Colorado Springs with game time set for 7 PM.
