Sophomores Jessica Howe and Devin Eckhardt Named Players of the Week

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Sophomores Jessica Howe and Devin Eckhardt were named RMAC Players of the Week the conference announced Tuesday.

Outside hitter Howe was named offensive player of the week after helping lead the Rangers to two away victories this past weekend. She averaged 4.43 kills and 4.57 points per set and had a combined 31 kills on the weekend while hitting .304. On Nov. 7 against Colorado School of Mines (3-0), Howe tallied 16 kills with just one error on 34 attempts for a .441 hitting percentage. The next night Howe recorded 15 kills, four digs, and one block for a total of 15.5 points against Chadron State (3-1).

Named RMAC setter of the week was Devin Eckhardt who had 89 assists, 20 digs, five blocks, and seven kills in the Rangers two victories this past weekend. She averaged 12.71 assists and 2.86 digs per set and recorded her tenth double-double of the season against Chadron State with 47 assists and 12 digs. The night before Eckhardt had 42 assists and eight digs against Colorado School of Mines.

The Rangers will play their next game in Kearney, Neb. against the Fort Lewis Skyhawks in the RMAC quarterfinal on Nov. 14. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m.
