Regis Volleyball Avenge Loss with Straight Set Victory Over Colorado Mines
Golden, Colo.: Sophomore middle hitter Jessica Howe's 16 kills paced the Rangers as they defeated Colorado Mines in straight sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 to improve to 15-11 overall and 11-7 in the RMAC.
The Rangers were very efficient at the net as they had only 10 hitting errors which is tied for a season low. They hit at a .319 clip, third best this season, to .219 for the Orediggers. The Rangers are now 6-4 on the road and avenge an earlier 3-2 loss to Colorado Mines at the Regis Fieldhouse.
Senior middle hitter Liz Franz had eight kills, while junior outside hitter and sophomore right side hitter Kerry Grady each chipped in with seven kills. Howe hit .441 for the match and Grady wasn't far behind with .400 hitting percentage.
Senior defensive specialist Nia Ingram led the defense with 10 digs, while sophomore setter Devin Eckhardt just missed her ninth double-double with 42 assists and eight digs. Freshman and senior defensive specialists Cassidee Young and Kristin Thompson each had seven digs for Regis.
Colorado Mines (18-11, 12-6 RMAC) were led by Elizabeth Serra-Hsu's 13 kills, while Kaity Edmiston chipped in with 10.
