Rangers No Match for Crosstown Rival

Denver, Colo.: A meeting with Metro State usually means a battle. However this match was no battle as the Roadrunners swept the Rangers in straight sets, 30-18, 30-21, 30-21.

The loss drops RU's record to 5-9 overall and 3-3 in the RMAC. MSCD improves to 7-8 overall and 5-1 in the RMAC. The win for the Roadrunners was their 10 straight at the Auraria Events Center against the Rangers. The last time Regis won at Metro State was in 1999.

The Rangers had no match for the Metro's Julie Green-McFarland as she posted a match-high 19 kills and a .425 hitting percentage.

Metro dominated in every category posting a .328 hitting percentage to just .086 for Regis. The Roadrunners also posted 25 more digs than the Rangers.

Junior Liz Franz (Littleton, Colo.) led the way for Regis as she posted 10 kills and a .318 hitting percentage. Freshmen Devin Eckhardt (LaSalle, Colo.) finished with 29 assists and 12 digs.

The Rangers will be back at Regis for a three game homestand beginning on Thursday, September 27th when they host Western State at 7:00 pm.
