Miller and Cahill Named to 2011 Daktronics All-America Third Team
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Rangers women's soccer placed senior forward Jordan Miller and sophomore defender Alison Cahill to the 2011 Daktronics All-America Third Team today.
The Rangers finished the 2011 season in the second round of the NCAA tournament with a 1-0 loss to Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. The women finished 15-6 overall and 11-3 in the RMAC Conference.
Miller, a native of Sante Fe, N.M. was a top performer for the Rangers, leading many of the Rangers stat reports. She leads the women with 11 goals, 30 points, 74 shots, and is tied for first with eight assists and four game-winning goals. Miller is one of four Rangers to start in 19 games this season, while she played in 20. She was second on the team with 34 shots on goal and has recorded a .459 shots on goal percentage. The 5-9 forward received a great deal of recognition for her efforts as she was named to the All-RMAC First Team, Daktronics All-Central Region First Team, and was named Offensive Player of the Week on September 13th.
A Boise, Idaho native, Cahill was a top defender for the Rangers, helping the defense to a .85 goals against average and 10 shutouts this season. She was one of five Rangers to play in all 21 games, while she started in 19. She put up two shots, one of which was on goal. Cahill was named to the All-RMAC First Team, RMAC All-Academic Second Team, and Daktronics All-Central Region First Team. She also earned Defensive Player of the Year status.
