Rangers Continue Winning Streak with 4-0 Victory over Minnesota State Mankato
Mankato, Minn.: After a 2-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth at home on Sept. 4th, the Rangers continued their streak by defeating Minnesota State Mankato on Friday while on the road. Regis grabbed the win 4-0 with Marissa Davis tallying two goals.
Just under five minutes into the first half, Davis struck for the first time of the game as she was assisted by Jordan Miller on the play. She scored her second goal of the day with just under seven minutes left in the half as Miller served her the ball again. Regis went into the break up 2-0.
Miller quickly increased Regis' lead to 3-0 just over two minutes into the second half when she scored her fourth goal of the season in as many games. Kari Taylor assisted Miller on the play. Just when it looked as though the Rangers were going to walk away with a 3-0 victory, Meghan Stuart put the Rangers up by four with two and a half minutes remaining. Katie Horn recorded the assist.
The Rangers outshot the Mavericks 16 to ten in the game recording 12 shots on goal. Minnesota State Mankato put three shots on goal.
Up next, Regis will face Winona State on Sept. 12th on the road. Kickoff is set for 10:00 a.m.
