Regis University Hires Father John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J. as the University's 24th President
The Regis University Board of Trustees announced Father John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J., as the 24th president of Regis University. He will take office June 1, 2012. Dick Kelly, chair of the Regis University Board of Trustees, made the announcement.

Regis Women's Soccer Bolsters Roster by Signing Six High School Student-Athletes
After finishing this past season 16-5-2, six newcomers have signed on to join the Rangers for the 2011-12 season. Regis finished this season ranked No. 22 in the final National Soccer Coaches Association after winning the RMAC Tournament Championship and making their third straight NCAA Tournament Appearance.

Jordan Miller Earns Daktronics All-America Honorable Mention Accolades
Junior forward Jordan Miller was tabbed as a Daktronics Women's Soccer All-America Honorable Mention honoree. Miller helped lead the Rangers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this season and a RMAC Tournament Championship.

Three Rangers were named to the NSCAA Division II All-Central Region Team the conference announced Tuesday. Junior Jordan Miller, sophomore Marissa Davis, and freshman Alison Cahill all received honors. Miller and Davis received first team honors while Cahill was named to the second team.

Rangers Fall in Shootout to Winona State in Second Round of NCAA Tournament
On Sunday, Regis had a 1-0 lead over Winona State during the first half that diminished during the second half when the Warriors tied the score. The game went into two overtime periods before Winona State claimed the victory during a shootout (4-2) to advance in the NCAA Tournament.

After defeating Fort Lewis 2-1 to take the RMAC Championship Title on Sunday, the Rangers traveled to Winona, Minn. on Friday where they defeated New Mexico Highlands 3-2 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This win puts Regis up against Winona State on Sunday.

For the third straight season and the eighth season in school history, the Regis University women's soccer team earned a berth to the 2010 NCAA Division II Tournament. Coming off of a 2-0 win over New Mexico Highlands on Friday, the Rangers, No. 23, defeated No. 3 Fort Lewis College in Durango on Sunday to claim the RMAC Championship Title and gain an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament next week. Rachel McMahon scored her fourth goal of the season to put the Rangers up 1-0 before CC Rinehart scored her second goal to increase the lead and victory to 2-0.

Regis Drops First Match in Eight Games 1-0 to Fort Lewis
After winning seven of their last eight games, and tying one, Regis dropped their final regular season game 1-0 to Fort Lewis College in Durango on Sunday. Although the Rangers outshot the Skyhawks 15 to 12, Fort Lewis' Emma Cannis put one in the back of the Rangers' net in overtime to end the match 1-0 in favor of Fort Lewis.

Seniors Bid Adieu with 3-0 Victory Over Adams State
On Friday, the Rangers played their last regular season home game as did four Regis seniors. Kalley Mahaffey, Katie Horn, Danielle Lardner, and Kelsey Froehlich have led Regis to 52 wins while winning 66 percent of their matches as Rangers. Senior day added another win to the girls’ 52 as they helped lead Regis to a 3-0 victory over Adams State at home.

Coming off of a six game winning streak, the Rangers tied Nebraska-Kearney at home on Sunday 0-0. Regis outshot the Lopers 33 to six in the match placing 15 shots on goal but were unable to put one in the back of Kearneys net.

The Rangers grabbed their fifth consecutive victory on Friday in Grand Junction as Kari Taylor scored her first goal of the season to lift Regis 1-0 over Mesa State. Jordan Miller assisted Taylor on the goal to total for 31 points on the season.

On Wednesday, Regis took a rival victory as they defeated Metro State 2-1 in double overtime at home. Jordan Miller and Meghan Stuart scored the two goals for Regis, one in the first half and one in the second overtime period, to jump to 10-4-0 (7-2-0 RMAC).

Nicole Eddings, sophomore Ranger goalkeeper, tallied five saves in Regis' first competition of the season against BYU-Hawaii, but the team was unable to walk away with the victory. Regis eventually fell 4-0 to the Seasiders in Honolulu, Hawaii on Thurs.

Regis Picked to Finish Third in Tough RMAC Women's Soccer Race; Marissa Davis Selected Preseason POY
The 11 RMAC head coaches picked the Regis women's soccer team to finish third in one of the toughest women's soccer conferences in the country. Regis garnered 27 points, while Fort Lewis was selected to take the regular season crown with 19 points. Regis Sophomore Marissa Davis was picked the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year.
