Rangers Tie Lopers 0-0 in Double Overtime

Kearney, Neb.: After defeating New Mexico Highlands on Friday 5-1, the Rangers tied Nebraska-Kearney 0-0 in double overtime in Kearney on Sunday. Regis outshot the Lopers 18 to two and totaled six shots on goal while Kearney had just one.

The Rangers kept the ball out of their territory for much of the game forcing just one save by RU goalkeeper Rosie Campbell. Kearney's first shot was attempted at the 38:23 mark which sailed wide left of the Ranger goal. Their second shot was taken 1 minute and 40 seconds into the first overtime period when Campbell saved the ball from the foot of UNK's Sara Chapman.

While protecting their turf, Regis attempted seven shots in the first period, six in the second, one in the first overtime, and four in the second overtime. While the Rangers took many shots, they were unable to sneak one past Loper goalkeeper Marissa Niday forcing the game to end in a 0-0 tie.

Up next, the Rangers will face Adams State at home on Sept. 20. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
