Regis Snags a One Goal Victory, 3-4, Over Mesa State While on the Road

Grand Junction, Colo.: After claiming a ten goal victory over Nebraska-Kearney on Fri., Oct. 2nd, the Rangers defeated Mesa State 3-4 on Sunday in Grand Junction. Four Rangers scored one goal each to snag the win.

The Mavericks (7-5-0, 4-4-0 RMAC) took the lead just over five minutes into the game when Daniela Ramirez was assisted by Rachelle Ormond on the first goal of the game. From that point on, both teams traded goals as Marissa Davis scored at the 20:38 mark, MSC's Jami Simpson scored at the 45:19 mark, and then Chelsea Bokan scored at the 52:57 mark. 

Heather Thomas decided to unravel the pattern by scoring just after Bokan at the 61:19 mark to put the Rangers up by one, 2-3. However, Ramirez scored again for the Mavericks tying the game at three less than a minute later. 

With about 27 minutes remaining in the game, Maddie Reeves scored the winning goal for the Rangers on a penalty kick following a Maverick foul. This put Regis up by one, 4-3, helping lead them to a victory and a 8-2-2 record (5-1-2 RMAC).

The Rangers will face CSU-Pueblo at home on Fri., Oct. 9th. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
