Taylor White Scores First Collegiate Goal in 2-2 Tie to No. 13 Fort Lewis

Denver, Colo.: Freshman Taylor White scored her first collegiate goal on Sunday to help lead the Rangers to a 2-2 tie in Denver to the No. 13 Fort Lewis College Skyhawks. Sophomore Kari Taylor also scored a goal in the match.

The game began and went scoreless until the seven minute mark when FLC's Erika Shisler scored after receiving the ball near the goal and kicking it into the lower left corner of the Ranger's net.

Taylor tied the score at one when she received a deflected cross from sophomore Jordan Miller at the 39:26 mark. She was unassisted on the play. The rest of the first half went scoreless.

White scored at the 66:48 mark when she drilled the ball past Skyhawk's goalkeeper Christine Schmelzle. White hit the crossbar from deep and the ball deflected into the Skyhawks net.

Just as it seemed the game was going to end in favor of Regis, Fort Lewis tied the score with just over three minutes remaining in the game. Hayley Hollenga scored to send the game into overtime.

After two overtime periods, neither team was able to score again ending the game in a 2-2 tie.

Regis outshot the Skyhawks 23 to seven in the match while placing eight of those shots on goal.

Up next, the Rangers will face Colorado Christian on Oct. 30th. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Colorado Christian.
