Rangers Tie Skyhawks 3-3 on Road

Durango, Colo.: The Rangers tied Fort Lewis College 3-3 while on the road Friday for their second tie in as many games. Freshman Erin Kettmann scored two of Regis' goals while sophomore Jordan Miller scored one.

Kettman scored the Rangers first goal at the 8:48 mark when she slammed the ball into the Skyhawks net after shooting from the right corner of the box. Miller assisted Kettmann on the play.

The next goal was not scored until the 25:59 mark when Fort Lewis' Torrey Larson shot at the Rangers goal. The ball bounced off of Ranger goalkeeper Marianne Clausen and back to Larson who took the shot.

Two more goals were scored before the closing of the first half, the first by Kettmann (unassisted) and the second by Kortney Hull (assisted by Hayley Hollenga). These two goals were scored at the 33:08 mark and the 35:00 mark respectively.

After the start of the second half, Miller scored just under nine minutes into the period (68:56) on a penalty kick. This put the Rangers up by one (3-2). Just over a minute later, Hollenga scored for the Skyhawks to again bring the game to a tie.

Neither team scored for the remainder of regulation play taking the game into overtime. Ater two overtime periods, the game ended in a 3-3 tie.

Regis will face Adams State College on Sun., Sept. 27th in Alamosa. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
