Two Ranger Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Named to Daktronics All-Central Region Teams
Alamosa, Colo.: RMAC Freshman of the Year Marissa Davis today was named to the Daktronics All-Central Region Women's Soccer First Team as voted on by Sports Information Directors from the Rocky Mountain Athletic and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conferences. Sophomore Jordan Miller was named to the second team.
Davis, from Golden, Colo. scored ten goals while assisting on
eight, both second on the team while totaling for 28 points in the
season. In the RMAC, she is fifth in points, points per game and
assists. Davis is the fifth Ranger to be named RMAC Freshman
of the Year since 1996 and the second in a row. She was also
a First Team All-RMAC selection this season where she played in 21
games, starting 20 for the Rangers.
Miller, last year's RMAC Freshman of the Year, received second
team honors after earning All-RMAC First Team accolades. With 41
points on the season, Miller was the Rangers' leading scorer with
14 goals and also led the team in assists (13). In 84 shots, she
placed 43 on goal for a .512 shot on goal percentage. Miller is
fourth in the RMAC in goals, goals per game (0.61) and third in
points and points per game (1.78). Her 13 assists are second in the
RMAC while her 0.57 assist per game average also ranks her second.
Davis will now move on to the All-America ballot which will be release on December 1st.
Regis finished the season with a 14-5-4 record and a second straight berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Regis finished their season last weekend falling in the first round to Colorado Mines 2-1.
