Rangers Win Fifth Straight After 1-0 Defeat Over Colorado Mines

Golden, Colo.: Being seated two slots behind Colorado Mines in the Central Regional Rankings, fifth and third, told nothing to the Rangers as they defeated Colorado Mines 1-0 on Wednesday in Golden for their fifth win in as many games. This streak began on Sept. 27th with a 2-1 defeat over Adams State in Alamosa and since this date, Regis has scored a total of 20 goals against their opponents.

In the first half of the match, Regis took seven shots one of which would end up being the game winning goal. At the 19:37 mark, freshman Erin Kettmann shot from the right side of the box past CSM goalkeeper Briana Schulze and into the far post. This would be the last goal scored for the remainder of the game.

While neither team was able to score in the second half, Regis took five shots while allowing Mines just three to outshoot the Orediggers in the match 12 to 9.

Regis will face Metro State, ranked first in the Central Region, on Fri., Oct. 16th at Metro. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
