Rangers Fall 3-2 to Colorado Mines in Overtime

Denver, Colo.: Coming off of a 9-2 win over Adams State College on Sunday, the Rangers fell 3-2 in overtime to Colorado School of Mines at home on Wednesday. Kari Taylor and Marissa Davis each had one goal in the match.

The Rangers came out strong scoring the first goal of the game just under five mintues into the first half (4:52). Kari Taylor received a pass from Davis from within the box and took the shot from just in front of the net for the goal.

At the 9:01 mark and 11:18 mark, CSM's Megan Woodworth struck twice scoring two goals for the Orediggers. The first was assisted by Elizabeth Oba and the second was unassisted.

After assisting Taylor on goal number one, Davis decided to score a goal of her own. She dribbled in toward the Oredigger's net and sent the ball into the back of Mines' net to set the score at 2-2 at the 12:20 mark.

While four goals were scored in less than 13 minutes, the remainder of regulation play went scoreless sending the game into overtime. After the overtime period began, it ended just one minute and 27 seconds later when CSM's Kayla Mitchell scored the winning goal for the Orediggers.

Regis will face Fort Lewis College in their next matchup on Friday in Durango. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
