Rangers Outshoot Cougars 25 to Six in 3-1 Defeat Over Colorado Christian
Denver, Colo.: After tying the No. 12 Fort Lewis College Skyhawks 2-2 on Oct. 25th, the Rangers snagged a 3-1 win over Colorado Christian on Saturday. Chelsea Reichard, Jordan Miller, and Heather Thomas each had a goal in the match.
The entire first half went scoreless with a combined nine shots being taken; seven by Regis and two by CCU. Those numbers jumped in the second half with both teams combining for 22 shots in the period with 18 of them coming from the Rangers.
A short 5:18 into the second half, Chelsea Reichard scored to put Regis up by one. Katie Horn assisted her on the play. 19 seconds later, CCU's Mallorie Kenczewicz tied the game when she was assisted by Jessica Smith.
The game remained 1-1 until just less than two minutes remained in the game (88:08). At this time, Jordan Miller scored her 14th goal of the game to put the Rangers up by one (2-1). She was unassisted on the play. Then with eight seconds remaining in the game, Regis increased their lead to two (3-1) when Heather Thomas scored the final goal of the game. She was assisted by Erin Kettmann on the play.
Regis outshot Colorado Christian 25 to six in the match.
