Three Former Rangers Named to RMAC Women's Soccer All-Time Team


Colorado Springs, Colo.: Three former Rangers were named to the 12-woman Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Time Team.  Forwards Kate Murphy and Kristin Geyer along with defender Tara Kirkpatrick were honored by the RMAC which has had women's soccer since 1996.  2006 National Player of the Year Kylee Hanavan of Metro State was tabbed as the RMAC All-Time Top Player.

Murphy (2001-05), from Plano Texas, is one of the top scorers in RMAC history.  She holds the RMAC record with her 31 goals scored in 2005.  She was a four-time First Team All-RMAC and finished her career second in the RMAC in points with 170.  Murphy is also the Regis career record holder with 66 goals and and second with 38 assists.  She also holds school records in career game-winning goals (19), shots attempted (325) and shots on goal (189).  Her many accolades include; First Team All-American in 2001 and Third Team in 2005, RMAC Freshman of the Year, two-time First Team All-Midwest Region and Second Team All-Midwest Region.

Geyer (2001-04), from Fort Collins, Colo., is the second leading scorer in Regis history with 137 points, trailing Murphy.  She is also the second leading goal scorer with 53 career goals.  She is fourth all-time in the RMAC with her 137 points and also fourth in career goals.  Geyer scored four goals against Colorado Christian during her freshman season, which is the second highest total in RMAC history.  Selected as the RMAC's Player of the Year as a sophomore, Geyer was a three-time First Team All-RMAC and First Team All-Midwest Region selection (2002-04). Named to the All-RMAC Tournament team during the 2002 and 2004 campaigns, Geyer garnered First Team All-America accolades in 2002.

Kirkpatrick (2004-07), from Lincoln, Neb., is one of the top defenders to ever don a uniform in the RMAC.  She was named to the First Team All-RMAC all four years at Regis.  During her freshman season she was chosen Second Team All-Midwest Region.  Her sophomore season, Kirkpatrick was tabbed First Team All-Midwest Region and Third Team All-American while also being named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team.  During her junior season she was tabbed the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year and also named to the NSCAA/Adidas All-Midwest Second Team.  Her four-year career ended earning an NSCAA Second Team Academic All-American award after her First Team honor the season before.  She was also named to the Daktronics Second Team All-Midwest Region.
