Carter Cornett's Two Goals Leads Regis in a 3-1 Win at New Mexico Highlands

Las Vegas, N.M.: Senior forward Carter Cornett scored two more goals to lead the Regis women's soccer team to a 3-1 win at New Mexico Highlands.  Regis (8-5, 5-2 RMAC) dominated New Mexico Highlands from the get go, outshooting Highlands (5-8-1, 2-6 RMAC) 24-8.

Cornett got the scoring started just over 20 minutes into the game on an assist from Lexi Tagen.  Highlands responded six minutes later as Adriana Aragon scored off an assist from Corey Strickland.  The first half would end with each team scoring just the one goal.

Tagen notched her fourth goal of the season 24:48 into the second half on an assist by senior Cassie Cornett.  With just eight seconds left in the game, Carter Cornett netted her 16th goal of the season to solidify the Rangers eighth win of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Holly Redmond picked up her fifth win of the season going all 90 minutes in goal getting one save and allowing just the one goal.

Regis will host Colorado Christian on Friday at the Regis Match Pitch with kickoff set for 3:30 directly after the men's contest.
