Rangers Drop Game 6-0 to No. 12 Metro State Roadrunners
Denver, Colo.: Regis was defeated 6-0 Sunday afternoon by No. 12 Metro State Roadrunners at the Regis Match Pitch.
Just 45 seconds into the game, Becca Mays scored the Roadrunners' first goal to give them a 1-0 lead. Gabby Klipp assisted on the play. Metro State scored one more goal before the end of the first half when Becca Mays struck again on an assist from Courtney Ryan and Jen Thomas.
Beginning the second half, Metro had a 2-0 lead over the Rangers until the 58:10 mark when their lead jumped to three. Madison McQuilliams was assisted by Becca Mays and Courtney Ryan in scoring the Roadrunners' third goal of the game.
With just under 32 minutes left to play, the Roadrunners scored three more while shutting out the Rangers. Ashley Nemmers scored at the 73:40 mark on an assist by Taylor Nicholls, Jaimie Stephenson scored at the 80:13 mark and scored once more before the end of the game to make the final score 6-0.
Metro State outshot the Rangers 18 to 11 with 11 of their shots being on goal. Regis had five on goal.
The Rangers will play next on Sept. 26 against Carson-Newmann College at the Regis Match Pitch. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
