Rangers 3-1 Defeat Over Colorado Mines Places Them Third in RMAC Standings
Denver, Colo.: After defeating Colorado Mines 3-1 at home Sunday afternoon, the Rangers are sitting in third place in the RMAC Standings.
Regis' first goal came at the 18:06 mark when freshman Jordan Miller dribbled in just in front of the Orediggers net for the shot giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Miller is tied with Regis all-time career goal scorer Kate Murphy (2001-05) and Dani Thorn (1997-2000) for most goals scored in one season by a freshman with 12.
11 minutes and 22 seconds later Colorado Mines tied the score at one when junior Kayla Mitchell scored an unassisted goal.
The Rangers broke the tie just over five minutes later at the 34:30 mark when senior Carter Cornett shot from the far right side of the field and placed the ball into the upper left hand corner of the Orediggers' net. Junior Heather Thomas assisted on the play. The first half ended with the Rangers leading 2-1.
