Rangers Defeat Colorado Christian 9-0; Freshmen Chandler and Miller Score Two Each
Denver, Colo.: Freshmen Heidi Chandler and Jordan Miller score two each to help lead the Rangers to 9-0 defeat over Colorado Christian University Friday afternoon in Denver.
One minute and 23 seconds into the game sophomore Danielle Lardner passed to junior Lexi Tagen who dribbled in and crossed the ball to Miller for the shot. The Rangers took the lead 1-0. Just over five mintues later Regis scored again when senior Carter Cornett dribbled passed CCU defenders to serve the ball to Miller who scored her second goal of the game.
Cassie Cornett scored her second goal of the season when Carter Cornett's shot deflected off of Alison Cox, the Cougars goalkeeper, and into the feet of Cassie who took the shot giving Regis a 3-0 lead.
Chandler scored the Rangers next two goals at the 33:22 mark and the 43:17 mark. Sophomore Kelsey Froehlich assisted Chandler on both goals.
The Rangers entered the second half with a 6-0 lead and increased it to seven just under two minutes into the period when Carter scored her 17th goal of the season on an assist by Cassie. Freshman Kari Taylor assisted freshman Emilie Eisman at the 62:36 mark to give Regis eight goals in the game. Regis scored their last goal of the game with just under ten minutes left to play when sophomore Ashley Daniel scored her first goal of the season.
The Rangers will face Colorado School of Mines Sun., Oct. 19 at the Regis Soccer Pitch. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
