Rangers Bounce Back with 4-0 Defeat at CSU-Pueblo
Pueblo, Colo.: Senior Carter Cornett is making her senior season count. Two games ago she scored a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Grand Canyon, the 5-9 forward from Edmond, Okla. netted two more goals in a 4-0 victory over CSU-Pueblo. Cornett's first goal came just under 14 minutes into the match on an assist from Lexi Tagen.
15 minutes later Tagen scored her second goal of the season on an assist from freshman Jordan Miller. Cornett scored again at the 53:44 mark and the last goal was scored by Miller with just over eight minutes left in the game.
The Rangers had 22 shots compared to just five for CSU-Pueblo (1-3-1), of which 15 of them were shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Rosie Campbell faced just one shot on goal saving that for her first shutout of her collegiate career.
Cornett, who has seven goals on the season is currently in fourth place on the all-time goals scored list at Regis with 37. Miller has scored four goals this season and paces the Rangers with three assists.
Regis will take their 3-2 record on the road for one more match this weekend. They will play at Colorado Christian on Sunday with kickoff set for 1 PM.
