Women's Lacrosse Reigns Supreme; Capture Inaugural RMAC Tournament Championship

Denver, Colo.: The 15th-ranked Regis University Rangers reigned supreme today as they took home the inaugural Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship with a 14-5 win over #2 seed Fort Lewis.

Regis (14-3) scored the first nine goals of the game as the Ranger defense really put a crimp in the Fort Lewis (10-7) offense and didn't allow the Skyhawks to score until just 1:43 left in the first half when they scored back-to-back goals to cut the lead to 9-2 heading into the halftime break.

The Rangers got the two goals back within the first five minutes of the second half on goals from Emily Elkins and Erin Todd.  The Rangers only allowed Fort Lewis 12 total shots, to 21 for the Rangers and controlled 12 of the 21 draw controls.

Hilary Duda put in three goals and had two assists, while Danica Cutshall, Emily Behr and Emily Elkins put in two goals apiece.  Behr led the team with three assists, while Cutshall contributed two herself.  Cutshall topped the team with seven draw controls.
