Denver, Colo.: The Regis women's lacrosse team dominated #11 Rollins 19-4 to improve to 9-3 overall. The Rangers have defeated a ranked team for the second time this season, marking the first time in program history that has happened.
The Rangers had a great opportunity to score off the opening draw but Erin Todd's shot was just off the mark. The two teams then took nearly nine minutes before scoring when Emily Behr scored on a free-position goal with 21:46 left in the first half. The Ranger defense was staunch against the 11th-ranked Tars (7-5).
Regis scored four more goals over the next 10 minutes before Rollins got on the board with 8:58 left in the half. Chelsea Pinneke scored for Rollins three minutes later to cut the lead to 5-2. The Rangers scored three more goals over the final 3:24 of the game including a free-position goal by Danica Cutshall with just 42 seconds left in the first half.
The Rangers then put the pedal to the metal in the second half scoring three goals less than four minutes in. RU scored eight-of-the-final-nine goals to win going away 19-4.
RU out-shot Rollins 27-14 and defeated the Tars 15-10 in draw controls.
11 different Rangers scored goals led by Cutshall's four. Cutshall scored eight points for Regis as she assisted on four other of the Ranger goals. She also topped the Rangers with six draw controls and grabbed two ground balls.
