Ranger Women's Lacrosse Picks up First RMAC Win with 18-10 Decision over Colorado Mesa

Denver, Colo.: The Regis Ranger women's lacrosse team opened their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule with an 18-10 win over Colorado Mesa.

Regis (4-2, 1-0 RMAC) scored the first two goals, one each by Erin Todd and Emily Behr.  Colorado Mesa (1-2, 0-2) scored the next two to tie the game at 19:24.  RU blew the game open by scoring four in a row and eight of the next nine to lead 10-3 with 12:25 left in the first half.

The Rangers didn't score the rest of the half and the Mavericks notched the final three goals of the first half to cut the lead to 10-6.  The Rangers outscored CMU 8-4 in the second half on their way to the 18-10 win.

The Rangers controlled the draw controls by a margin of 23-7 and outshot the Mavericks 36-25.

Todd scored four goals on four shots, while Emily Behr had three goals and assisted on three others.  Hilary Duda, Danica Cutshall and Maddie Garcia each collected two goals.  Cutshall also had two assists and led the team with six draw controls.  Emily Elkins was right behind with four draw controls and led the team with Morgan Pierson with three caused turnovers. 

Gianna Lombardi had 11 saves on 21 shots, allowing 10 goals.

RU will host Adams State on Sunday, March 23rd.
