Nine Regis University Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes Earn WILA All-Academic

Alamosa, Colo.: Nine outstanding Regis University women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Academic Team.

Seniors Ari McDonald and Morgan Taylor were joined by juniors Jessika Carlstrom and Margaret Nahrup.  Sophomores Kendra Burch, Danica Cutshall and Monica Gorciak were also honored along with freshmen Gianna Lombardi and Sierra Perrella.

Burch, Carlstrom, Cutshall, McDonald and Taylor are all repeat performers.  The nine student-athletes are the most of any of the five WILA teams with Colorado Mesa having eight.

McDonald graduated this may with a degree in health and a 3.443 grade point average, while Taylor also graduated with a degree in pre-vet and a 3.503 GPA.  Carlstrom, who was named to the First Team Capital One All-Academic Disctrict VII has a 3.971 GPA in biology, while Margaret Nahrup is an accounting major with a 3.307 grade point average.

Burch sports a 3.549 GPA in pre-med, while Danical Cutshall tops the nine players with a 3.978 GPA in neuroscience.  Gorciak is majoring in computer science and has a 3.776 average.  Lombardi and Perrella finished their freshman year with a 3.573 and 3.433 grade point average respectively with Lombardi being a communication major and Perrella undecided at this time.

Regis finished runner-up in the WILA following a championships season in 2011.  They finished with a 9-8 record, their second consecutvie winning season which also included a season finale defeat of #2 Rollins College.
