UC-Davis Too Much for Regis Women's Lacrosse
Denver, Colo.: Division I UC-Davis proved to be too much for the Regis Lacrosse team today winning 18-3.
Junior Cristian Johnson tied the game at one apiece with 18:45 remaining in the first half but then the UC-Davis (8-3) wore down the Regis (2-6) defense scoring the next eight goals and leading at halftime 9-1.
UC-Davis then scored five goals in just over seven minutes in the second half to put some more distance between them and the short-handed Rangers. Junior Kelsi Goings scored her only goal of the game just 1:41 into the second half and the final goal for Regis came off the stick of Johnson again with 16:41 remaining.
Regis did stop 14 shots including nine by junior Erin Lewis who played the entire second half as Ranger starting goalkeeper Brittany Farniok played in the midfield.
Regis will finish up their season next weekend as they play host to Rollins College on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Fort Lewis on Sunday afternoon.
