Rangers Open Lacrosse Season with Nail-Biting 12-11 Loss to Queens

Charlotte, N.C.: The women's lacrosse season started off on a bad note as Regis lost to Queens University defeated the Rangers 12-11 today.

Regis tied the game at nine with 12:29 left in the game on one of sophomore Evelyn Pierrepont's game-high five goals.  Unfortunately Regis only scored two more goals but the Ranger defense kept them in the game allowing just three goals for Queens.

Regis took their one and only lead after sophomore Morgan Taylor scored with just 1:41 remaining in the first half at 4-3.  Queens scored the next four goals to open a 7-4 lead with 24:57 remaining in the game.

Taylor and junior Kelsi Goings trailed Pierrepont's five goals with two goals apiece.  Freshman Erin Flynn led Regis with six ground balls, while sophomore Carly Wagner had five.  Senior Brittany Farniok had 11 saves on the day in goal.

Regis will play Limestone Saturday.
