Ranger Lacrosse Topples Fort Lewis 18-3

Durango, Colo.: The Regis Ranger women's lacrosse potent offense was too much for Fort Lewis to handle as they defeated the Skyhawks 18-3. 

Regis (2-4) got an early goal by sophomore Erin Dybus just 2:28 into the game but Fort Lewis was able to tie the game just three minutes later before the Rangers went on a tear scoring nine of the next 10 goals to take a 10-2 lead at halftime.

The Rangers outscored Fort Lewis (1-7) 8-1 in the second half en route to the 18-3 victory.  Regis outshot the Skyhawks 27-13 in the game.

Junior Kelsi Goings led the Ranger offense with four goals on just six shots.  Sophomore AriAnna McDonald and freshman Jessika Carlstrom each collected three goals.  Junior Cristina Johnson, sophomores Morgan Taylor and Dybus and freshman Margaret Nahrup scored two goals apiece.

Junior Chani Taggart led the Ranger defense with three ground balls, while Carlstrom topped the Rangers with three draw controls.

Senior Brittany Farniok allowed just two goals in just over 30 minutes of action in goal.  Junior Erin Lewis came in and allowed just one goal and saving three other shot attempts.

Regis will take on Colorado College in Durango Saturday afternoon.
