Rangers' Nemesis Colorado College Beat Rangers 14-11 in Double Overtime
Durango, Colo.: The Ranger women's lacrosse team has an in-state rival in Colorado College and for the second time this season the Tigers beat Regis, this time 14-11 in double overtime.
Trailing 4-2, Regis (2-5) went on a 5-0 run over a 6 1/2 minute span and went into halftime with a 9-4 lead. Colorado College (6-2) came out of the locker room with a vengenance and outscored the Rangers 7-2 with the final and tying goal coming with just 1:53 remaining in the game.
The Tigers would then keep the Rangers scoreless in the overtimes and finished off the game with a 14-11 victory.
Junior Kelsi Goings, sophomore AriAnna McDonald and freshman Margaret Nahrup each scored three goals for Regis. Sophomore Morgan Taylor and freshman Jessika Carlstrom tallied one goal apiece. Taylor led the way for Regis with two assists, while junior Cristina Johnson collected four ground balls.
The Rangers were just 2-for-8 on free position shots but did outshoot the Tigers 30-28.
Regis will host UC-Davis on Saturday, April 10th at Regis at 12:00 p.m.
