Hulbert's 75 Propels Regis to Second Place After Round One on Home Course

Denver, Colo.: The Regis University women's team returned to their home course for the Regis Invitational and they seized advantage and enter tomorrow's second round in second place with a 325, trailing CSU-Pueblo by just five shots.

It was a great day for the Hulbert family as Nicole followed in brother Taylor's footsteps and led their respective teams.  Nicole shot a career-low 75, which is the second lowest 18-hole score in Regis history.  Hulbert is in second place, just one stroke off the pace following her 36-39 score.

Two Rangers, freshman Sara Shafer and junior Lara Pocs shot identical 83s to tie for 12th place at the par 72, 6,295 yard Meadow-Links course.

Senior Alex Semanko and freshman Ashley Karl were just one stroke behind Shafer and Pocs with 84s.  Semanko shot rounds of 39 and 45, while Karl went 44-40 to tie for 18th.

Freshman Sarah Hagen led all individual players with an 85 (42-43), her lowest round of her early career at Regis.  She is tied for 21st, while junior Erin Andres carded a 98 (48-50) to tie for 49th.

The final round, weather permitting, will be a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. tomorrow morning.
