Women's Golf Maintains Fourth Place at Chadron State Invite; Hulbert Finishes Third
Scottsbluff, Neb.: The Regis University women's golf team showed that they belong in the conversation regarding the top teams in the RMAC.
Regis finished fourth just 13 strokes behind champion Western New Mexico and seven strokes behind runner-up Adams State at the Chadron State Invite which also was the RMAC Event #2. Colorado Mesa finished third with a 651, while Regis carded a 653.
Regis freshman Nicole Hulbert shot her career-low 36-hole total at the Scottsbluff Country Club (72-6205) with a 12-over 156. That put her in third place overall with the second best score of the tournament, which was at 155 by two Western New Mexico golfers.
Junior Lara Pocs shot an 81 in round two and finished with a total of 163 to tie for 11th. Senior Alex Semanko also carded an 81 in the second round and was one stroke off Pocs' pace and tied for 14th.
Freshman Ashley Karl and Sara Shafer rounded out the Rangers by shooting an 83 and 90 respectively in the final round. Karl was 22nd with a 36-hole total of 173, while Shafer had a 177.
The team will finish up their fall portion of the schedule next week at the participate at the RMAC/NSIC Crossover in Omaha, Neb. at Tiburon Golf Course.
