The Regis University Board of Trustees announced Father John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J., as the 24th president of Regis University. He will take office June 1, 2012. Dick Kelly, chair of the Regis University Board of Trustees, made the announcement.

A better day awaited the 48 golfers at the NCAA Central Region Women's Golf Championships at Hillcrest Golf Club (72-6350) but that was definitely a relative term. The temperature didn't get above 40 degrees but there was no rain or snow and little winds.

Sophomore Lara Pocs Earns Individual Bid to NCAA Women's Golf Tournament
For the second year in a row, sophomore Lara Pocs has earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. Pocs will be competing against three other individual qualifiers as well as nine teams from the RMAC and the NSIC in St. Paul, Minn. at Hillcrest Golf Club, May 2-4.

Women's Golf Stages Big Second Round Comeback at RMAC Championships; Pocs Named to All-Tournament Team
The Regis University women's golf team sat in sixth place after round one of the RMAC Championships played the Golf Club at Estrella (72-6405). The Rangers shot 27 strokes better to move all the way to third place, the best ever finish by a Regis women's golf team. Sophomore Lara Pocs was named to her second straight all-tournament team with a third place finish.

The Regis Ranger women's golf team began their season at the Adams State Grizzly Invitational Tournament. After the first round, the Rangers are currently in third place with a 332, 16 strokes behind Mesa State and just five strokes behind Fort Hays State.
