Rangers Super Freshman Lara Pocs Earns RMAC Freshman of the Year; Semanko Earns 2nd Team Honors

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Regis super-freshman Lara Pocs earned RMAC Freshman of the Year for her performance this season on the course.  She was also named to the RMAC First Team, while sophomore Alex Semanko was named to the second team.

Pocs and Semanko helped the Rangers to their best regular season finish in the program's history.  Regis finished fourth overall with 20 points, just two points behind third place Western New Mexico.  Montana St.-Billings took the team title with 30 points, while Mesa State was just one point behind at 29.

Pocs, from Westminster, Colo., led the Rangers in scoring at 83.6 over 17 rounds this season, her low of 76 occurred at the RMAC Championships in the first round earlier this week.  She had five rounds in the 70s and had just one round over 89.  Pocs had an aggregate four-RMAC tournament total of 475 just 12 strokes behind RMAC Women's Golfer of the Year Kristina Casillas of Mesa State.

Semanko, from Boise, Idaho, had a four-tournament total of 493 to earn second team honors.  Semanko was second on the Rangers with an 84.9 scoring average over 17 rounds and had three rounds in the 70s including her low round of 76 at the CCU/Mesa St./Regis Triangular on April 11th at Fox Hollow Golf Course.  Semanko was named RMAC Golfer of the Week once this season.

Regis finished their finest season in program history and will return all six golfers next season in hopes of improving and becoming a force in the region.
