Freshman Lara Pocs Lead Ranger Women's Golf to Third Place Finish at Ranger Invitational/RMAC #3

Lakewood, Colo.: Freshman Lara Pocs shot a 156, good for a tie for third, in leading the Rangers to a third place finish at the Ranger Invitational/RMAC #3.  Regis was just one stroke behind affiliate RMAC member Montana State-Billings for second place after finishing with a 647 after a 320 on Monday and a 327 in round two.

The Mesa State Mavericks were the team champions with a 620, running away with the title after shooting a 303 in the second round, following their 317 on Monday.

Pocs shot a 79 in the first round and a 77 in the second, while sophomore Alex Semanko finished in fifth with a 157 (78-79).  Her 157 marked her lowest round as a Ranger.  Semanko led the whole tournament with a 4.25 scoring average on par 4s and was also the tournament leader with 27 pars.

Jennifer Hilts of Mesa State College was the individual medalist shooting a 151 to outdistance teammate Jessica Berve by four strokes.

Sophomore Haley Robinson carded a 163 (82-81) to finish in a tie for 17th.  Junior Emily Einfeldt followed up her round one 81 with a 90 to finish with a 171 to tie for 27th.  Fellow junior Kacee Harris followed up her career low round with a 94 (181) to finish in 37th.

Pocs (156), Semanko (157), Robinson (163) and Harris (181) all shot their lowest 36-hole score of their collegeiate career.  Also, the team as a whole carded the lowest 36-hole score in program history.

Regis will finish out their fall portion of their schedule next Monday and Tuesday as they travel to Grand Junction to take part in the Mesa State Invitational at Tiara Rado Golf Course.
