Goodyear, Ariz.: The Regis University women's golf team finished their most successful season in the program's history with a fifth place finish at the RMAC Championships held at Estrella Mountain Golf Course (72-5804).
Regis finished with a team total of 688 and finished fourth amongst RMAC teams with St. Cloud State of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference finishing two strokes better than Regis in fourth place. Montana St.-Billings took the team title with a two-round score of 638. Western New Mexico was the runner-up six strokes behind Montana St.-Billings.
After a subpar first round of 350, the Rangers shot 12 strokes better in the second round and moved past Nebraska-Kearney and almost caught up to St. Cloud State.
Freshman Lara Pocs paced the Rangers with a fifth-place finish after shooting a 155 (+11) following up her 76 in the first round with a 79. Sophomore Alex Semanko shot nine strokes better in the second round than the first and finished with a 173 (91-82) to tie for 23rd. Junior Emily Einfeldt finished tied for 30th and like Semanko shot much better in the second round. After an opening round 93, she came back with an 85 for a total of 178.
Sophomore Haley Robinson and junior Kacee Harris rounded out the scoring for Regis. Robinson finished in 38th place with a 185 (90-95) while Harris carded a 192 good for 44th place.
