Ranger Women's Golf Finishes Third in Grizzly Invitational; Alex Semanko Ties for Sixth

Alamosa, Colo.:The Regis women's golf team started the 2008 fall season finishing third in the six-team Grizzly Invitational at Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa.  The Rangers, who were picked sixth in the RMAC preseason poll finished with a two-day total of 701.  Host Adams State finished second just four strokes better than Regis, while West Texas A&M won the tournament with a combined team score of 643.

West Texas A&M golfers took the first six spots, with the Rangers Alex Semanko tying for sixth with a 36-hole score of 164 (+22).  Tessa Sullivan shot a 170 (+28) to finish in 10th place, while Haley Robinson carded a 178 (+36) to place 15th.  Emily Einfeldt and Kacee Harris shot scores of 189 (+47) and 196 (+54) respectively to finish in a tie for 24th and 28th.

Other teams competing in the tournament were RMAC foe CSU-Pueblo, Iowa Western CC and Oklahoma Panhandle State.  The Rangers will hit the links again in competition Sept. 15-16 as they take part in the RMAC Event #1 held in Scottsbluff, Neb.
